The snaffle bit is a standard jaw piece. This jaw piece has loose rings which allow the bit to move more freely in the mouth, so many horses accept this bit well. Because the rings move freely, aids come through less directly than with, for example, a snaffle bit. To prevent skins from getting between the moving rings, it is recommended to provide the bit with bit rings.
The leather bits are a remarkable appearance in the TRUST collection. The core of the leather bit is made of reinforced nylon. The leather that is stitched around the core by hand is naturally tanned without chemicals. Saliva production makes the leather bit softer and therefore more pleasant for the horse. The flexible operation in combination with the taste of the leather makes the bit ideal for horses with a sensitive mouth. Lubricate a leather bit regularly with olive oil to keep the bit supple. The stitching of the leather bit should face forward when it hangs in the horse's mouth.
